Amendments were made to Government Decision No. 685 of the Republic of Moldova of September 13, 2012 (On the approval of the Strategy for the Development of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Sector for 2012-2020) concerning the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova and the development of the “green economy” for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The purpose of the amendments was to ensure a favorable environment for entrepreneurs, for the development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector, and to align with the principles of the European Union’s global policy framework for small and medium-sized businesses (“Small Business Act” for Europe).
Thus, a new subparagraph was added, which discusses the need for developing women’s entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova. It describes entrepreneurship in general as a large-scale phenomenon, as well as the contribution of women to this field of activity and the importance of involving women in the small and medium-sized enterprises sector. The document also includes an analysis of statistics on women’s entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova and methods for involving women in this field of activity.
The subparagraph concerning the development of the “green economy” for small and medium-sized enterprises discusses the need to develop an ecological economy both in the Republic of Moldova and at the international level. The document also points to the need for the rational use of resources by small and medium-sized enterprises and the reduction of negative environmental impact, which has been incorporated into the country’s development strategy.
The document states that the transition to a “green economy” in the Republic of Moldova is a priority. The goal of the transition to “green” operations for small and medium-sized enterprises is the production and promotion of ecological goods, waste processing, and the proper and efficient use of resources.
Thus, two new items were added to the development strategy for the small and medium-sized enterprises sector for 2012-2020, namely, the development of a green economy for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova.
The last amendments and additions to the “Monitorul Oficial” were made in issue No. 156 of 07.06.2016.
